Mercedes García Horrillo began her duties in EMSA in June 2015 as Seconded National Expert. Since February 2017 she develops her tasks in EMSA’s Sustainability Unit in the area of air emission from ships, Sulphur Directive and alternative fuels for maritime transport. Mercedes has more than twenty years of experience in the maritime sector, shipbuilding industry and maritime administration.
Her background is MSc in Naval Architecture and Marine engineering as well as Ms in Shipping Business. Before joint EMSA she worked as surveyor for a Classification Society (DNV) and for the Spanish Maritime Administration.
