EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN MARITIME LIMITED (EASTMED) is a ship management company established in Liechtenstein in 1972 with head offices in Glyfada, Athens, Greece, under the provisions of Law 89/67.
The Company’s business is the management of tramp ships of various sizes, trading worldwide with a total DWT of around 7 million tons, including modern tankers (from Handy size to VLCC size), bulk carriers (from Handy to Cape size) as well as feeder container ships (1700 - 2200 TEU) of a cumulative capacity of about 18235 TEUs.
The Company presently employs 200 shore based personnel and a further 3300 seagoing staff.
EASTMED’s main structure consists of the following departments: Sale & Purchase (S&P), Chartering, Operations (including Freight Collection and Disbursements Checking divisions), SQE, Technical, Marine Personnel, Insurance & Claims and Purchasing. Furthermore, the Company’s activities are supported by an infrastructure, which includes the following departments, required for the Company’s overall effective and efficient performance: Office Administration, Information Technology (IT), Legal and Accounts.
