Born in 1950
Graduate from Athens University – School of Economics (1968) and from City College of London- Shipping Studies (1969)
Co- Managing Director of the family shipping business “Thenamaris” from 1968 to 1990
In 1991 he established in Glyfada his own shipping company ‘Eastern Mediterranean Maritime Limited’ (Eastmed) of which he is Managing Director.
- Member of the Union of Hellenic American Educational Foundation (HAEF)- Athens College
- Founding Member of “SYNENOSIS” of the Union of Greek Shipowners, a company offering social services
- Member of the Board of Directors if the Center for Asia Minor Studies
- Archon of the Orthodox Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople
- Archon of the Orthodox Patriarchate of Alexandria, Egypt
He is married to Marina and they have two daughters and three grandchildren.
They both support social benevolent causes mainly in Greece through their family foundations “AIGEAS NON-PROFIT CIVIL COMPANY” and ‘THE THANASSIS AND MARINA MARTINOS FOUNDATION’.
