Stephanos E. Angelakos, is the CEO οf Angelakos (Hellas) S.A. and represents the fifth generation of the Angelakos shipping family.
A captain himself, Stephanos was born and raised in the U.K.
He holds a Merchant Marine Officer's degree from the National Merchant Marine Academy of Aspropyrgos, Greece and began his professional career by serving as a deck officer on the vessels of Fafalios Shipping S.A. Later, he sailed on vessels of Angelakos (Hellas) S.A., before eventually joining the corporate headquarters in Athens, Greece.
Stephanos continues his forefathers’ commitment to maritime transport and has a value-based and hands-on management style. With almost 30 years of experience in shipping, he spearheads the family company which manages 20 bulk carriers. Under his leadership the company has grown to become one of the prominent Greek bulk carrier shipping companies globally, reputable for its authenticity, quality and reliability.
He has been involved in new building projects for 25 vessels in shipyards in China and Japan and has established strong networks in the region.
In addition to shipping, Stephanos is engaged in rescue activities, environmental protection initiatives, as well as the promotion of multilateral trade, cultural and educational exchanges between Greece and Asia.
