Julia Anastasiou has been an active member of the shipping industry since 1997 and joined the OSM Maritime Group in 2009. She has over the past 13 years progressed to today holding a global role as Managing Director for Crew Management. Within the scope of her role, Julia is responsible for OSM’s global crew organization, spanning across several countries and offices which includes the crew management and recruitment offices and their crew and customers. Simultaneously, Julia is heading the OSM Cyprus office in the capacity of Managing Director.
Julia is associated professionally and academically with the Institute of Chartered Ship Brokers and the University of Warwick. She had her first academic work published in 2017 for the World Maritime University (WMU) in Malmö, Sweden which is a postgraduate maritime university founded in 1983 by the International Maritime Organization (IMO). With her commitment to empowering women in Shipping and striving to raise awareness for the younger generation, Julia supports the Cypriot Shipping cluster through her involvement with various local and international committees and organizations.
Julia champions the recognition of women in shipping and is a staunch advocate for equality, diversity and inclusion. Her work has been a life-long ambition, spanning over 25 years in the industry to empower leaders and educate them on the need to embrace change in an ever-evolving industry.
