Mr. Ian J. Hampton

Chief People, Communications & Sustainability Officer

STENA LINE GROUP

Panellist

I have been working within the Shipping and Logistics industry for 21 years, firstly serving at sea in a maritime role onboard cargo and passenger vessels but since 2009 based ashore within HR. I have both formal maritime and HR qualifications.

Initial part of my shore career was within the Cruise industry for Carnival PLC and latterly within Stena, for a short period in between I relocated to Hong Kong working with a Large Hong Kong Logistics Company.

My present role is Chief People, Communications and Sustainability Officer for the Stena Line Group (responsible for People, Media, Public Relations and Company Brand) based between Sweden and London. I am part of the Group Management Team reporting to the CEO. This role covers both our Ferry Operations as well as our Ports and Terminals. Within the capacity of this role I am a formal Board Director of all our UK entities.

In addition to the above I am also a Director of Stena UK, the holding company of all the UK business for Stena, totalling 2.2Billion GBP of assets (ownership of Tankers, LNG vessels, Drilling Vessels and Ropax Ferries) Stena UK covers the business areas of Ferry operations, Offshore Drilling, Ship Management, Property and associated non-maritime businesses.

Stena Line and the Stena Group has a strong relationship with the UK Chamber of Shipping; as part of this I have been co-chairing the Chamber Brexit Committee with Gavin Simmonds.
