George Mouskas was born in 1953 in London. He studied Law & Maritime Law and joined the company firm Zela Shipping Co Ltd in 1976. He specialized in chartering and sale and purchase of vessels and in 1990 became Managing Director of Zela Shipping Co Ltd.
He is married to Mary Mouskas and has 3 children and 3 grandchildren.
He was actively involved with the Cyprus Union of Shipowners from 1995 and in 2009 was elected chairman of the Union and he remains chairman up to today.
In 2014 the Zela Shipping Group relocated most of its operation to Limassol - Cyprus, under the name of Olympia Ocean Carriers, which is now the head office of the group.
Zela Shipping Co Ltd and Olympia Ocean Carriers currently operate 7 cape size vessels with a tonnage in excess of 1.2 million tons dwt. All the vessels fly the Cyprus Flag.
