Dieter started his career in Chartering and Operations with reputable German and Swiss shipping companies prior to joining Intership in 1990 as Operations Manager. Dieter was promoted to Joint Managing Director in 2010 and later took over the helm as CEO in 2013. In 2024 Dieter took over the ownership of Intership and related companies in a management buy-out. In 2025, when the Intership group merged with Interorient Shipmanagement, Dieter became CEO of newly established InterMaritime Shipmanagement Ltd.
Dieter is the Honorary Consul in Cyprus for the Independent State of Samoa, and holds several professional positions including member of the Board of Directors of the Baltic and International Maritime Council (BIMCO), member of the Executive Committee of Intermanager, member of the board of the Cyprus Shipping Chamber, member of the Members’ Board of NorthStandard P&I and Chairman of the NorthStandard P&I Elections Committee.
He is also a board member of the Maritime Anti-Corruption Network (MACN), a committee member of the Norwegian Hull Club and board member of the Cyprus Marine Environment Protection Agency (CYMEPA). He is the vice chairman of the Cyprus Committee of DNV and member of the Mediterranean Committee of the China Classification Society (CCS). He also sits on the Board of Governors of the Cyprus Maritime Academy (CyMA).
